As you’re probably already aware, at HARBOUR HQ we’ve been diligently working on our next-generation platform, “Atom.” This latest development highlights our unwavering commitment to innovation, building on the strong foundation of experience and expertise we’ve established over the past 16 years.
Our first major move was to streamline and enhance the system, significantly improving processing speed and overall efficiency. But the improvements don’t stop there. We’ve also launched a refreshed user interface, introduced new automated coding standard evaluation scripts, and adopted a more modern approach to platform development. These updates are not just technical enhancements; they mark a transformative step forward.
Our CTO, Tony McNulty, recently shared the rationale behind the name “Atom,” which perfectly reflects our journey and our dedication to creating a stable, innovative platform. Reflecting on the name “Quantum,” which we used for our previous version, Tony acknowledged that while it symbolised our ambitious future, it also represented an abstract, undefined concept.
Here’s Tony’s insight on the new name:
“Naming the next version of our product, I chose ‘Atom.’ The Quantum version, launched in July 2018, marked a bold leap into the future, but the name conveyed hazy, undefined notions. With the benefit of hindsight, we realised the need for stability and clarity. Project Nexus was our effort to transform our complex system into a stable, efficient platform. ‘Atom’ embodies this change—a stable nucleus surrounded by well-organised modules. It represents our focus on well-defined, essential components.”
We’re incredibly excited about the future and how Atom will enhance the HARBOUR platform for both existing and new clients. Our goal remains to provide our clients with the best tools to achieve their business objectives efficiently and effectively. Here’s to the next 16 years of innovation and excellence!
